Brisbane has very strong coffee, brunch, and light lunch cultures, so it is not surprising to discover that it is home to some fantastic cafes. Eateries that are popular with its 2.5 million residents and 9.65 million overnight visitors enjoy.

With the help of Instagram, we have created a list of the most photogenic and popular cafes in Brisbane. This post was inspired by the most Instagrammable restaurant, bar, or cafe articles created by the Mandoe Media team, for Sydney, London, New York, and several other locations. If you are traveling to any of those places why not click here, search the site, and take a look at what is available in each location. In the meantime, here are our top picks for Brisbane:

Nodo – multiple locations
4,360 posts - 55.4K followers

Nodo has several cafes located throughout the city. It is well known for providing a wide range of gluten-free and plant-based options. Their gluten-free doughnut is popular with everyone, even those people who can eat gluten without any issues, enjoy them.

Their Newstead flagship café is the most photographic of their branches. But it is the food that is the star.

Pawpaw Café - Woolloongabba

This all-day café serves great food. It is well-known for its seafood dishes, curries, and frequently refreshed menu. The chefs work hard to provide interesting dishes and are renowned for using seasonal ingredients, which helps keep the prices down.

For those who are lucky enough to get a window seat, there are some great city views to enjoy

Coffee Anthology – Central Business District (CbD)
10.5k Instagram posts – 20.7k Followers

Tucked away in Brisbane´s business district this gem of café is worth a special trip. Their specialty coffee is not crazy expensive, and the fruity, light-tasting batch brew is very popular. It is a great destination for brunch, their miso scrambled eggs, oriental omelets, and perfectly poached egg dishes are firm favorites.

Andonis Cafe & Bar - Fortitude Valley

Goodness Gracious Café - Graceville
2,729 posts - 14.2K followers

A café where the chefs are more than happy to change things to suit their customer´s tastes and dietary needs. Their menu is continuously evolving with a focus on using seasonal ingredients and the coffee is locally sourced too. The leafy courtyard is the best place to sit, but it fills up fast and understandably people tend to linger there.

Off-street parking is available nearby.

A few of Brisbane´s up and coming Cafes

The above are all well-established cafes, which have built up their reputations and gathered followers over the years. But it is always worth trying a couple of newer establishments as well.

We suggest:

  •     Farmhouse Restaurant & Coffee Shop - Redlands - Michelin star cooking standards
  •     Nikau Espresso - Fortitude Valley - a sleek, light, and airy café located in the rejuvenated heritage-listed Jubilee Hotel
  •     Citroen - Bayside - Mediterranean cuisine and vibe
