Queensland Police issue amber alert for two children taken from Redbank Plains, Ipswich

Queensland police is seeking urgent public assistance to help locate two children they say have been taken from Redbank Plains, Ipswich, and may be at significant risk.

The children, a seven-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy, were taken by a woman from a home on Warrill Street just before 4:00pm, police said.

It is believed she was travelling on foot and may be aided by another man.

The seven-year-old girl is described as having a dark complexion with dark dread-locked hair. She is wearing a pink shirt, white skirt and black shoes.

The boy is described as having a dark complexion with short black hair. He is wearing a blue shift and tan pants.

The woman is described as about 150cm tall, with a dark complexion, a proportionate build, and black and purple hair.

She was last seen wearing three-quarter-length camo pants, black shirt and stockings.

Police said she was believed to be travelling on foot in the Ipswich and South Brisbane area.

Police believe she may be also be aided by another man.

Police urged members of the public to ring 131 564 to provide information about the matter, or ring triple-0 for life-threatening information about the abduction.
